Initially, the association will operate as a 501c(6) solely by its volunteer board and by utilizing subcontractors. As the association grows, it will become necessary to hire a President and other staff.
The board will consist of 19 board members, with an Executive Committee of officers.
- Officers include Chair, Chair-Elect, Vice-Chair-Legislation, Vice-Chair-Education, Vice-Chair-Economic Growth, Vice-Chair-Investor Relations, Treasurer, Secretary.
- Committees to include: Legislation, Finance, Education, Membership, Economic Growth, Marketing & Event Planning.
- A 22nd member (non-voting member) will be the association’s legal counsel.
- At least three board members from each category should be represented; Manufacturer, Distributor, Retailer, Restaurant/Bar. The other members can be from the general public, supplier or other industry expert.
The association will hire a lobbying group to advocate for our legislative agenda at the Statehouse.
The association will hire a public relations firm to manage its statewide media efforts.
Until a full-time staff can be hired, the association will contract a membership sales firm to grow our membership on a commission basis. This firm may also retain sponsors as requested for association events.
